The above composition has a strong message behind it, and I feel that the design delivers it well. The text, scribed in Spanish, reads something along the lines of, "It is time for action, for liberation of expression. Project Jarea". Given the message behind this piece, the fleur-de-lis-esque background makes perfect sense; to liberate your artistic expression you have to work against and work with pre-existing 'normal' art. The stains, resembling either stains, watermarks or damage, further prove that the message is to unlearn everything you know about what is and is not art by challenging and/or destroying artistic expectations and standards.
In terms of techniques, the stains were probably made by splattering diluted water colours on paper. The artist then scanned that paper and created a set of Photoshop brushes to use at their leisure.
